Modern and sustainable climate system for SNG Barratt

The turnkey project of 1,621 m2 comprises a new commercial building with offices on the Rosmalense Plas and was built by Willy Naessens Netherlands. Installation company Den Doorn B.V. was responsible for the electrical and mechanical installations. In order to guarantee sophisticated air treatment, the total installer contacted regular partner Systemair.

The new building is equipped with a modern and sustainable climate system. "On the roof, we installed an air/water heat pump, which extracts energy from the outside air and transfers it to a refrigerant," explains Jos van Oijen, Mechanical Engineering Team Leader at Installatiebedrijf Den Doorn B.V. "CV-fired heaters were chosen as the delivery system in the industrial hall. The offices are equipped with underfloor heating. An air treatment unit from Systemair ensures the supply of sufficient fresh air here, while maintaining the comfort requirements."

Efficient heat recovery, low energy consumption

"For the conditioning of the rooms, Installatiebedrijf Den Doorn B.V. was looking for a roof-mounted air treatment unit with a flow rate of 1,500 m3/h and including an electric battery for reheating the air if necessary," says Derrick Echteld, Account Manager at Systemair. "This is what we are fulfilling with our Topvex SR04 unit. The Topvex SR04 is a plug-and-play unit, with efficient heat recovery and low energy consumption. Thanks to the integration of a heat wheel, no condensate drain is also required. The unit comes with an Access control system, allowing the installer to easily enter his settings based on the end user's requirements." The Topvex SR04 was originally developed for indoor installation, he says. "To make the unit also suitable for outdoor installation, an ODS air intake and discharge section including roof was added for the entire unit."

Years of cooperation

The new building for SNG Barratt is not the first project Systemair and Installatiebedrijf Den Doorn B.V. are doing together. "We are trusted partners and know exactly what to expect from each other," said Echteld. "For example, we recently worked together on Hikvision's new headquarters in Hoofddorp, the new distribution center for Kivits in Ridderkerk and Kindcentrum De Plantage in Meteren." Van Oijen: "With Systemair we are assured of reliable and class A installations. The lines of communication are also short and good. Derrick, among others, is always there for us and makes sure things are arranged quickly and well. We appreciate that enormously."

Burden of proof

What is special about SNG Barratt's new building is that it was designated as a pilot project by Willy Naessens Netherlands, under the Building Quality Assurance Act. Installation company Den Doorn B.V. therefore had to submit the technical specifications and a piece of evidence of all W- and E-installations, explains Van Oijen. A responsibility that the total installer already assumes by default. "For example, when adjusting the air handling unit, we draw up a report, which also includes the measurement data," he says. "With this, we are perfectly prepared for the new developments."
