Modern boilers and components such as heat exchangers, three-way valves, thermostatic valves and underfloor heating are sensitive to dirt and air. The energy-efficient pumps in boilers and heat pumps also attract ferrous particles (magnetite), causing them to consume more energy. Research and practice show that magnetite in particular leads to decreasing efficiency and - as a result - higher energy costs. Fast and efficient dirt and air removal is therefore of great importance.
Depending on pressure and temperature, water may contain more or less air. When water is heated in a heat pump, air is released in the form of microbubbles. These microbubbles reduce not only the flow but also the heat output. Thus, air is often the reason why a delivery system does not heat up (at all). Air also leads to all kinds of annoying side effects, such as gurgling noises in pipes and radiators.
For example, research at Brunel University shows that air bubbles at the outlet of heat pumps are very small (about 0.1 mm) and can only be captured with a good micro-bubble separator. Spirotech responds to this with the SpiroVent air separator, which removes the microbubbles from the hot water immediately after the heat pump. This allows the water to reabsorb air further down the system, so the air bubbles will disappear completely over time. The delivery systems are then optimally heated again and the heat pump again operates as economically as possible. The benefits:
The main cause of fouling in heat pump systems is corrosion, resulting from the reaction between (the air in) the water and the ferrous components in the system. Contamination in a heat pump system consists largely of magnetite, which can be very harmful. For example, accumulated and stuck magnetite prevents optimal operation of the heating system. Also, magnetite causes excessive wear and failure of valves, valves, controllers, pumps and other advanced components. A clear indication of the presence of magnetite is the blackening of the system water.
The annoying and sometimes costly consequences of contamination in the installation water can be prevented with the SpiroTrap magnetic dirt separator from Spirotech. This dirt separator removes magnetite from the installation water extra quickly. The result is an installation with clean water that is much less prone to failure. In addition, the heat pump operates as economically as possible and consumes significantly less power. The advantages:
