Renewal and expansion for Honeywell Home zone control sets from Resideo

In more and more homes, the realization of a zoning scheme is necessary. In new construction, this control is mandatory according to EPBD III, but also in existing homes, consumers are asking - directly or implicitly - for this possibility. Resideo is accommodating installers with an expansion and renewal of the Honeywell Home Y-VC zone control kit range. The updated portfolio consists of more sizes and control valves with larger passages. To make it easier for installers, these are also available as quick assembly kits (plug&play).

With the revamped portfolio, Y-VC zone control sets are available in eight common variants starting August 1. The connections range from 22 mm to 28 mm clamp coupling and from 3/4'' female thread to 1'' male thread. "We noticed a lot more demand for larger connection sizes," says Rob Nagel, country sales leader for the Netherlands at Resideo. "This is because hybrid and all-electric heat pump systems are now much more common. Because the water temperature is lower in these applications, a higher volume of water must flow through the pipes. This requires control valves with a larger size and passage." 

The updated range of solar control kits works for a wide range of applications: installations with boilers, hybrid systems, heat pumps but also district heating. Moreover, Resideo supplies these products as mounting kits that speed up installation work (plug & play). "For the smaller sizes, we already had such mounting kits - valve with valve, motor and transformer - in our range. Now there was a lot of demand to offer this also for the larger connections. The zone control kits are completely ready to plug in, and thus very easy for the technician to connect. At a time when we are short of professionals everywhere, this quick and easy assembly is an important factor."

By offering complete plug-and-play mounting kits, installers now get zone control kits that are already fully wired, including energy-efficient, pre-assembled transformer. Mounting options have been improved, including by making the flow direction completely free to be determined by the installer. Because the new valves are backwards compatible, it is easy for the professional to replace an old Honeywell Home control set or valve. In addition, Resideo offers a 5-year warranty* on many Honeywell Home heating control products.

The Honeywell Home Y-VC control valves can be applied to many thermostats. For installers, it is immediately clear where they stand. "Already on the packaging, and in the manual, we show with which thermostats these zone control sets work smoothly," Nagel says. "Of course, these valves work well with the popular 'Round'. Comfort-wise, they work better with a programmable thermostat. We see the best and most comfortable results, when people combine the valves with our evohome, the T6 or other connected thermostats."
