Precise operation and 100% closing

In the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) sector, butterfly valves are essential components in virtually every hydraulic system. "Most butterfly valves available on the market, however, are less suitable for this application area. They leak, their run times are not optimized for HVAC applications, they are too large and too heavy for easy assembly and they cannot be commissioned quickly on site," says Erik Hendriks, Product Specialist at Belimo Servomotoren B.V. With the new generation of butterfly valves, Belimo introduces one clear and complete line for HVAC installations, Hendriks says. "In the new actuator, all features of interest to the HVAC market are already included. For example, speeds can be set from 20 to 150 seconds and an internal heater is also included, cleverly obviating the need to purchase separate components. The protection class of the housing has also been raised to IP66/67, which means that the butterfly valves are even more robust." The butterfly valves are ideally suited for systems with high energy requirements and large flow rates, such as data centers, hospitals and heat networks, he says. "But also for HVAC systems in which the valves do not (no longer) meet specifications regarding tightness, flow, pressure and medium temperature. The first new butterfly valves have now been delivered."

Optimized mechanical construction and easy installation were possible thanks to the reduced height and low weight of the actuator.
