Plug and play koelen, verwarmen en ventileren

Following questions from installers and various customers, climate solutions supplier STULZ Groep BV decided to expand air handling unit ClimaPac. With this expansion, the company provides a device that has two special features. First, a frame including heat pumps of the brand Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, of which STULZ is the largest importer in Europe. In addition, the unit features a heat recovery unit. This allows the ClimaPac to be used for proper ventilation in addition to cooling and heating a building. "With this expansion, the ClimaPac has become a complete device," Van Merkestijn believes. "Good ventilation has become a more important issue in the past year. This is particularly due to the coronavirus. We have noticed that companies have become increasingly interested in ventilating their commercial buildings." He has also noticed that due to the Dutch government's climate goals, more and more organizations have the desire to make their commercial buildings energy efficient or energy neutral. "Thanks to the expansion, the ClimaPac meets both needs."

Standard and customization

Hoewel de officiële presentatie in juni plaatsvindt, laat Van Merkestijn weten dat de uitbreiding van de ClimaPac al langer beschikbaar is. “Sterker nog, ik heb hiervoor in mei al aanvragen gekregen. We bieden deze nieuwe luchtbehandelingskast in vijf verschillende types aan, voor diverse soorten gebouwen van verschillende grootte. Dat komt ook omdat we naast onze standaardtypes ook maatwerkkasten aanbieden.” Van hotels en universiteiten tot ziekenhuizen, industrie en winkelcentra; het apparaat zorgt voor een goede koeling, verwarming en ventilatie. “Ook in casino’s, hiervan hebben we recent een opdracht van binnengekregen.”

Production will take place in Spain for the time being, but after the summer, part of the ClimaPac will be produced in the Netherlands. In the fall, STULZ's new headquarters in Hoofddorp is expected to be completed, a gas-free and energy-efficient building in industrial park 'De President'. This office will also include a production location for the ClimaPac, Van Merkestijn points out. "We are the only company in the Netherlands with everything under one roof, including our own STEK mechanics. These mechanics are trained to fill a heat pump with an F-gas as a refrigerant."

Plug and play

The expansion of the ClimaPac not only offers companies a good solution to ventilate, cool and heat their building, says Van Merkestijn. "It also offers great benefits to our direct customers, the installers. The main thing for them is that we have provided one cabinet, which is easy to connect. If the cabinet is on the roof of a building, they no longer have to connect different parts together. Thanks to the extension, the ClimaPac is plug and play, they just need to plug it in." In doing so, STULZ is always there for the installers, providing them with no-obligation advice. "From general questions to advice on a specific project, they can always come to us."
