Renovation of flue gas ducts: fast, efficient and flexible

Product is suitable for any type of high-efficiency boiler

From the South Holland town of Wateringen, F.F. Duct Renovation is happy to serve installers, companies and owners' associations around the renovation of ventilation and flue gas ducts. An activity in which the Ruud Balink-led company makes exclusive use of high-quality products and systems. FuranFlex, the innovative and flexible chimney liner, is one of them. The material offers various advantages during the renewal of flue gas ducts of business premises, houses and apartment complexes. For example, the product can be applied very quickly and can be used for almost any flue gas duct and any type of high-efficiency boiler. Moreover, its processing causes virtually no inconvenience to occupants or building users.

FuranFlex is a simple and very practical method of renewing flue gas ducts. F.F. Canal Renovation has been using it successfully for over 10 years. On an annual basis, the company realizes more than 2,000 connections within the Netherlands. "Renovating with FuranFlex is first and foremost nice and fast," Balink explains the great popularity of the effective system. "Usually we finish the job within one working day. But what also counts is that the flue does not have to be removed and no breaking work needs to be done. As a result, there is also hardly any inconvenience. In short, the advantages of FuranFlex are numerous. For both its processors and for building users and residents of houses and apartments. In a qualitative sense, but also when it comes to processing the product."

Smart and simple principle

The advantages cited by Balink have everything to do with the principle of FuranFlex, which is as simple as it is ingenious. "It all starts with lowering a flexible hose made of FuranFlex into a flue gas duct," Balink explains. "By then sealing the duct at one end and blowing steam through it from the other end, the hose takes the shape of the flue gas duct. After it cures, a jointless, seamless and airtight liner is the result. A steel-hard liner that consists of one piece and is optimally resistant to corrosion, flames, heat and moisture. This makes FuranFlex ideally suited for lining CLV ducts and individual flue pipes, even when equipped with a heat exchanger. But it is also a top product for ventilation and shunt ducts, chimneys of fireplaces or wood stoves and rainwater drains. Regardless of shape or diameter. Square, round or oval: it fits and works, always and everywhere. And what's also great: we give a standard 25-year warranty against corrosion."

Security

The FuranFlex applied by F.F. Canal Renovation consists of three layers: an outer layer of Kevlar-reinforced fiberglass, an intermediate layer of composite and fiberglass, and an inner film that is removed after the curing process. Together, the three layers form a robust unit that was scrutinized and tested extensively in product technology by Kiwa in 2019. "At that time, the product was completely vetted and declared suitable for exclusive use by F.F. Canal Renovation," Balink continues. "We offer additional security through the special audits Kiwa conducts with us every year to assess the method of working. If there is a change in the guidelines, it is immediately included in the assessment. As a result, we offer our clients the assurance that work is always done in accordance with the most current requirements, standards and guidelines."
