At VSK+E 2024, Klimaatgroep Holland will show, among other things, the Scholen°Concept. A proven method to get the right ventilation and temperature in every classroom with decentralized units. Jan Geert Wind, consultant Scholen°Concept: "The concept has been on the market since 2008, but we continue to develop it all the time. Meanwhile, the units hang in 10,000 Dutch and Belgian classrooms."
"We have been at VSK a number of times in the past, because it is the fair for installing Holland. As a manufacturer and supplier of the Scholen°Concept, we think we should definitely present ourselves there," says Wind. He explains that the concept is used in both new construction and renovation. "The big advantage with a decentralized system is that significantly less ductwork is needed in the school. In addition, there are virtually no balancing problems. It also meets the Fresh Schools Class B requirement."
For each classroom, a ComfortºPlus unit will be installed in the suspended ceiling. Sensors measure temperature, CO2 levels and the presence of people in the classroom. Based on these measurements, air is brought into the rooms in a draft-free manner with air distribution grilles. Wind: "With the units you can ventilate, cool and heat. In addition, awnings and lighting can be connected to the system. It works fully automatically and is the quietest on the market. On a digital control panel on the wall, the teacher can easily set the temperature. The units are designed so that they can be connected to central heating boilers as well as heat pumps and generation from waste heat." Thanks to intelligent heat recovery, the work is very energy efficient. Night cooling ensures that everyone can start the morning in a fresh classroom.
As standard, the units are connected to Klimaatgroep Holland's control room, which is monitored 24/7. The school receives its own login data to always have insight into the measured values.
In renovation projects, the Schools°Concept is often installed in educational buildings during vacations, but the decentralized solution also lends itself well to being implemented incrementally per classroom. Wind: "When designing, we always look at what aesthetically suits the school best. For example, the grids and piping can be adapted to the design." With the implementation of the SUVIS scheme, ventilation is being improved in many schools. However, if the building is not made gasless until later, this is not a problem with the Schools°Concept.
That the concept works so perfectly for schools is no coincidence, as it was developed together with the users by Klimaatgroep Holland. On the control panel there is even a 'don't like me thumbs up', with which the user can indicate dissatisfaction. "We then contact them to find out why someone is dissatisfied. Through our years of cooperation with schools and installation companies, we continue to develop and lead the way," Wind said. No wonder Klimaatgroep Holland is the only company that dares to give no less than a ten-year product and performance warranty. This is combined with a maintenance contract for the very best results.
