How can you make your building more sustainable through building automation? How is the energy transition progressing? What do technical innovations have to offer you? You will hear it all and much more during Smart Buildings on October 5 in Nieuwegein. The theme this year is energy transition. Are you an end user involved in the management, maintenance or operation of a building? Then don't miss this!
Smart Buildings is taking place for the fifth time. The building automation event is intended only for end users and engineering firms with more than 10 employees. They will receive free admission.
The day will feature nearly 300 presentations from 73 vendors, including suppliers, manufacturers and consultants. All major brands that matter are at the event. They will present their innovations and update you on the current state of the art and what awaits us in the future.
There is no shortage of topics: from making HVAC systems more sustainable, lighting and security to solar shading. As a visitor, you will see a total offering in the field of building automation.
"The people coming to the event are end users, for example at hospitals, educational and healthcare institutions," stated organizer Martijn Beckers. "We expect four to five hundred visitors. It really is a knowledge event. We have 35 presentation rooms with eight time slots. There is limited space at the lectures so that there is interaction between presenter and visitors. Visitors can put together their own program and after the event they will get all the presentations to take home."
A forum will take place at the end of the afternoon. Andy Dobbelsteen, professor of Climate Change & Sustainability at TU Delft, will give an update on energy transition, climate adaptation and additional value creation. Popular speaker and founder of De Groene Grachten Suze Gehem will then give a presentation on making the built environment more sustainable and specifically the opportunities for monuments. After all, making monumental buildings sustainable cannot and may not be done just like that.
The event takes place every other year, so visitors always see real innovations and get new information. According to Beckers, it has never been bigger than this year. "It takes place at De Woonindustrie in Nieuwegein. That's basically a shopping mall where retailers do their furniture shopping. In the middle is the information market and in the 35 stores the presentations take place. Two top speakers conclude the event."
Smart Buildings is organized by end-user platform Building G100 on Oct. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at De Woonindustrie in Nieuwegein. You can register via the website www.smartbuildings.nl.
