As a partner of Homij, insulation company H.J. Crombach insulated the W-installation and fireproofing facilities within the renovated City Hall and new Municipal Office in Heerlen. This project required quite a bit of flexibility, says owner Math Crombach.

Insulation company H.J. Crombach specializes in insulation work for technical installations. This mainly involves industrial and utility projects. In its own workshop, insulation sheet metal is manufactured for customized projects. That the company is located in Heerlen made the project at the City Hall and City Office extra special. "It was quite a challenge, though, because the installations were complex and a lot of value was placed on the design," Crombach says. "We regularly had to come up with a solution on site, for example by applying insulation in a different color."

Of course, the renovation required a bit more from the company than the new construction, since here you are working with an existing building that has to be brought completely up to date. The location also demanded something of the staff, Crombach says. "Getting in and out of transport was difficult because it's right in the middle of town. We anticipated that by also working outside the usual hours. We did the transport on Saturdays, so we were not bothered by the parking policy. We work with a permanent team where we don't have to explain the interests all the time. Our staff often comes up with such solutions themselves. As a result, we met everything on schedule."
