The lighter weight, smaller dimensions and higher integral strength of grooved elements compared to welded or flanged systems make these systems ideal for pipe networks in limited space or in vertical pipe networks such as in high-rise buildings. A system that uses slotted tube connections can be flushed and cleaned much faster than a system that uses other connection methods. If parts of the system need to be disconnected, for example to prevent dirty water from flowing through a cooler, this is absolutely no problem. With a welded system, constructing a temporary bypass around a cooler takes several days. With a slotted system, this job is completed within a few hours. Also, access for cleaning filters and screens after flushing is much quicker and easier. In addition, the piping can be easily modified at any time.
